Request Thomas Cooper Library Instruction

University of South Carolina faculty and instructors can request a library instruction session to acquaint students with library resources, services, and research skills that will help students succeed academically. Depending upon the size and purpose of a class, the library instruction session can take the form of a general introduction to library resources or focus on the information needs of a specific assignment. The session can be conducted in a Thomas Cooper Library classroom or in your classroom.  We also welcome the opportunity to work with distributed learning courses.

Library Guides

Library Guides are developed and maintained by librarians in order to provide research support for courses, subject areas, and special topics.  The guides provide suggested databases, books, as well as other information and are a great way to get started with library research.  Library Guides can be created as a supplement to a library instruction session or are a great alternative if you are unable give up class time for a library instruction session.

We welcome the opportunity to work with faculty and instructors to develop a course related Library Guide.  The guide can easily be embedded into Blackboard using the guide's URL. If you are interested in having one created for your class send an email to tclrefbi@mailbox.sc.edu and include your name, contact information, department, and a description of the class or assignment.
