Welcome to the Thomas Cooper Library's guide to Children's Literature. Here you will find ways to identify, search for, and locate books in our Juvenile collection. You will also find guides on successful practices for searching for and locating children's book reviews as well as research articles that deal with children's and young adult literature. Please use the tabs above to explore the different tips and resources we provide to help you locate works of children's and young adult literature.
The Juvenile Collection
The Juvenile Collection is located on Level 1 of the Thomas Cooper Library. The collection can be found by taking the elevator from the Main Floor, down to Level 1, and turning left after exiting the elevator.
More About the Collection
- The Juvenile Collection contains more than 30,000 books with target audiences ranging from infants to young adults
- The primary users for this collection are students and faculty in various education fields as well as library and information science (school media track) students and faculty, or anyone else who is looking for a good children's or young adult book
- The collection includes all of the Caldecott and Newberry prize winning books that can be found in the library catalog
- The collection does not house textbooks for children or young adults
