Advice for catalog searches about people

For materials in the Columbia Annex click on the location label in the library catalog and you'll be able to get to a request form to have the book brought to campus or if it is a part of a book or article have it delivered to you electronically.

1.  Try a subject search with the name of your person.  Last name entered first

homans amy morris

mckenzie r tait

2.  Try a keyword search to find person's name in content notes.  "quotations will look for words as a phrase"

"dioclesian lewis"

3.  Try these keyword searches like these and look at the actual books

"physical education" and biography

"physical education" and history

Search for articles

Listed below are article databases that might identify articles about your person as well as some journal databases.  Be careful how you search.  Try entering searches with last name, first name and the way you would say someone's name.
