Designing Assignments

Tips from the librarians on designing effective research assignments.

Scheduling a Library Session

We are in the process of creating a scheduling calendar for ENGL 102 sections in Fall 2013.  It should be available here soon.

Thank you.

Preparing for Your Library Session

Each library session we teach is customized for your individual class.  There is evidence that your students will be more attentitive and participate more during the session if they know of the research assignment and have their topics beforehand.

To ensure we are meeting the needs of your students, please provide the following well in advance:

  • Your complete syllabus
  • Your research assignment (already assigned)
  • Your students' potential topics

Also, it is strongly encouraged that you consult with the librarian before the session.  This will allow us to better understand your expectations and work with you in designing the session.
