If the library has a physical copy of a dissertation, you'll find out by searching the library catalog. The catalog also includes dissertations that are available electronically.

Looking by author? Use an author search, starting with the last name.

Looking by topic? Abstracts and the full document in Dissertations & Theses@University of South Carolina are searchable, so you may have better results searching there.

Looking by department? Remember department names can change. All USC dissertations are given a subject heading: University of South Carolina--Theses--name of the department/college

Getting a copy. There may be a copy you can check out in Thomas Cooper Library.  If the location is listed as Columbia Annex: Ask at South Caroliniana Library (Library Use Only), patrons must request retrieval of materials by contacting the South Caroliniana Library directly at Include the call number, author, and title in your message. Requests for South Caroliniana Library's Annex materials take at least 24 hours to fill. Materials are used only in the South Carolinana Library, and patrons must register and provide photo ID on their first visit. South Caroliniana Library hours.
