Finding Reviews for Children's Books
Search Find It@USC Libraries in the "Articles, books and more" scope with the title of the book. Use the Resource Type filter to narrow results to Reviews (some results tagged as Articles could also be of interest). These tools can also help you find reviews.
- Children's Literature Comprehensive Database This link opens in a new windowLists over 900,000 books and media, many with reviews. Look for the reviews icon or limit your search to only those with reviews.
- Literature Criticism (Gale Literature) This link opens in a new windowIncludes "Children's Literature Review." You may find reviews, essays and biographical information. Tip #1: Advanced Search, "Name of Work" field Tip #2: some reviews tagged as "Literature Criticism" so don't restrict search to just "Reviews & News"
- Book Review Digest Plus This link opens in a new windowAn index of reviews for both fiction and non-fiction books, with coverage back to 1983. Includes descriptive annotations, citations, review excerpts, book summaries, and more than 100,000 full-text reviews.
- Book Review Digest Retrospective, 1905-1982 This link opens in a new windowIndexing back to volume 1 of Book Review Digest.
Early citations in the print volumes did not include the year of publication of the book reviewed. Use the "limit by date" that searches year of the review rather than "By Date of Creation" once you do a search. - Literary Index (Gale Literature) This link opens in a new windowTells you where to find information about authors and titles in reference sources published by Gale, including Authors and Artists for Young Adults.
