Keyword Searching Tips
- AND - both terms must be present
Ex: pipeline AND protest - OR - one of the terms must be present, but not all
Ex. poverty OR poor - * = truncation - searches for any various ends to the term
Ex. child* will search for child, children, childhood, etc. - Quotation marks around 2 or more words search for an exact phrase
Ex. "South China Sea"
Order Books
If the library does not have a book you need, we have services available to help you get it.
- Interlibrary LoanInterlibrary Loan is a free service to students, faculty and staff. Request materials we don't have or request scans of articles and book chapters from the library's shelves.
- PASCAL DeliversPASCAL Delivers is a free service which finds books in other SC academic libraries and with a couple of clicks you can request delivery. We'll send an email message to your USC address when it arrives. Click here or use the link in the catalog to access this service.
