Data Analysis and Statistics Assistance

During the Fall and Spring semesters, the University Libraries is pleased to offer consultative support for exploratory data analysis and statistics. With the support of the Provost Office, graduate student employees with expertise in statistical and data analysis provide In-person assistance. Data Analysis  and Visualization Software

A variety of software related to data/spatial analysis and data/spatial visualization is installed on select computers in the Technology Lounge on the 5th floor of Thomas Cooper Library. 

In addition, the Libraries provides remote access to four computers, on a first come first served basis, that also have statistical analysis and data visualization software. Use the link below to request remote access: 

Data Analysis Software

The following statistical analysis and data visualization software programs are provided by the University Libraries:

  • SPSS
    SPSS may look like a spreadsheet and it can perform many similar functions. Unlike most spreadsheets, SPSS provides easy access to a wide variety of statistical tests and graphics and supports much larger datasets. It is widely used in various subject areas and fields.

  • SAS
    SAS is a command-driven statistical and data analysis software suite.
  • STATA SE
    Stata SE is a powerful solution used for data manipulation, visualization, statistics, and automated reporting.
  • NVivo
    NVivo 14 the current version of software that supports qualitative and mixed methods analysis of textual and audiovisual data sources. You can use it to organize and code multiple data sources in one project file, assign attributes to data and compare them, interpret, query, and visualize data.
