Fixed-Income Bonds

Government Bonds:

Bloomberg offers tools for tracking interest rates and the activities of the Federal Reserve.

First, search for government bonds by-

Browse complete list WB <GO> Lists major government bonds around the world
U.S. Treasury bonds  CT10 or CT5 --> GOVT --> <GO> For 10 and 5 yr bonds, respectively
T-Bill (3 month) CB3 --> GOVT --> <GO>
U.S. Generic Bonds USGG10YR or USGG5YR --> GOVT --> <GO> For 10 and 5 yr bonds, respectively

Use the following commands after first searching for a particular government bond-

FED <GO> Federal Reserve "Homepage"
C15 <GO> Monitor interest rates by tracking the yield curve

Corporate Bonds:

First, search for corporate bonds by-

Issuer Ticker symbol --> CORP--> <GO> Lists all bonds issued by the equity; choose a specific bond for more info
Specific bond  Ticker symbol Coupon Rate Maturity --> CORP --> <GO> Ex. IBM 5.4 01/26/09 CORP <GO>

Use the following commands after first searching for a particular corporate bond-

DES <GO> Description of a corporate bond
CRPR <GO> Credit ratings of a particular bond
TDH <GO> Summary of recent price activity of a corporate bond
