EndNote Desktop: An Introduction: Cite While You Write

Ready to cite your sources!

1.  Start in Word.  Click on the EndNote tab.

2.  Begin typing your composition.  When you are ready to insert a citation, click on "Insert Citation."

3.  Locate your citation in EndNote.  Enter a word that appears in your citation.  If needed, add additional terms to locate the citation.

4.  If changes are needed, ALWAYS make changes with the "Edit and Manage Citation/s" or the "Edit Library Reference(s)" tab.  Do not make the changes on the Word document.
