Gordon's library of books includes published copies of his own works, as well as his research collection, which includes tomes by other music educators, psychologists, and educators. The books in this collection have been added to our library catalog and we have made copies available for checkout whenever possible, especially books authored by Gordon. For further assistance accessing books, please contact us using the "Email Me" link on this page.
While the finding aid has a comprehensive list of all publications included in the Edwin E. Gordon Archive, many of his books can also be located in our library catalog. Archival items are listed as "Library Use Only" or "Limited Access" and may only be used in the library. However, we also have circulating copies of many of Dr. Gordon's publications so they can be requested world-wide through Interlibrary Loan (ILL) and checked out at your local library.
If you are affiliated with USC: Circulating copies found in our catalog can be checked out like any other book in the library. Please contact us using the "Email Me" link to set up an appointment to see items listed in the catalog as "Limited Access" or "Library Use Only".
If you are affiliated with another university: Circulating items can be accessed through Interlibrary loan (ILL). After locating the item in WorldCat, contact the ILL department at your university or college library to handle your request.
If you have access to a school library, public library, or state library: First, find out if the book you want is in WorldCat. If it is, contact your local library and ask if they offer ILL services. (This may not be advertised on their website). If your local library does not have ILL, and the book you want is listed as being owned by USC in Worldcat, you can ask your local library to set up an institutional account with us on your behalf to get the book for you.
