Edwin E. Gordon Archive Research Guide

The seminars listed below focus on the teaching of Music Learning Theory. Many of the seminars listed below are Sugar Loaf Seminars. These were summer seminars held at the Sugar Loaf Conference Center during Dr. Gordon's time at Temple University, for the most part before the founding of the Gordon Institute for Music Learning (GIML) in 1988. A brochure for the 1980 summer seminar describes it as “a seminar for music educators and administrators in universities and colleges, primary, and secondary schools, preschool and private studio teachers, and all persons interested in the music learning/teaching process.” In addition to the Sugar Loaf seminars, audio recordings of select seminars and courses taught through 1991 are also included here.
